Outreach & Service
Our mandate was to be an outreach organization on behalf of the congregation both locally and globally. It has been a very busy year! Special projects were organized for Lent, Thanksgiving and Advent that included the collection of personal hygiene products for Westview Centre4Women, which was aided by hosting a fundraiser.
School appropriate snacks were collected and distributed for the Community Crew Lunch Program. This group also supplies school lunches throughout Niagara.
A collection of socks, mittens and gloves for the Out of the Cold program as well as food for Community Care. Our team members also continue to lead the St. George’s Community breakfast program as well. Bravo to everyone for your hard work!
Project Smile
Project Smile is a friendly dedicated group of women volunteers who meet monthly at Trillium Church. Established in 1994 in North Bay. The St. Catharines Chapter formed in 1998, operatingfrom donations of fabric and monetary contributions received from the community.
Quilts are lovingly made for children. The quilts are given as gifts to children that have life threatening illnesses while they are patients at Toronto Sick Kids and McMaster University Hospital in Hamilton. We also supply quilts to the NICU at Toronto Sick Kids.
The third Friday of each month we meet at Ruby Carroll Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30. Please feel free to pop in for a visit and consider joining us.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Trillium's Prayer Shawl Ministry is a community that creates shawls... and often blankets, lap blankets and pocket squares/hearts or crosses to be shared with others in times of celebration and crisis. With intention and prayer, they weave hope, care and blessing into creations meant to wrap the recipient in the warm and loving embrace of God and community. It is a tangible reminder of the presence of God in all of life's struggles, challenges and joys.
Beginners are welcome, all are welcome!

Art & Soul
Art & Soul was launched this year, creating a series of events and workshops that align with Trillium United Churches vision. Although the group is relatively new, we have already had an amazing afternoon with Guest Catherine Mitchell leading us to explore the power of imagery and how symbols truly connect with our soul. Keep watch on our events calendar or our social media on Facebook and Instagram to be in the know on future workshops. Hope to see you there!
Out of the Cold
Sadly, numbers have increased due to the rising cost of housing, food, utilities and it appears 50% of our clients are unhoused and the other 50% are in need due to food insecurities.
Over all in the increase is about 20% for people requiring food. This year we were blessed with a donation of 127 Tim Horton and Giant Tiger Gift cards that were distributed in January. Along with meals we also offer toques, gloves, scarves, socks, blankets, coats and toiletries at each dinner for those who require them. We thank everyone for their generous support as always!
