Minister's Message
As we move toward the summer solstice and the longest days of the year, I find myself thinking about the things we carry by heart. Not simply what we know with our minds, but what has become part of us through repetition, experience, love, and practice. The stories we tell, the songs we sing, the values we hold, and the people who have shaped us all become part of who we are.
This Sunday, as we celebrate Father's Day, we'll reflect on what it means to know something by heart. We'll consider the gifts, wisdom, traditions, and stories that have been passed from one generation to another, and how those things continue to guide us long after the moment has passed.
A reminder that worship on Sunday, June 28, will be held in Ruby Carroll Hall with a 10:30 a.m. start. We are grateful to our tech team for making this possible and to Rev. David Pritchard, who will be leading worship while Don Haslam, Joan Learmonth, and I attend the Horseshoe Falls Regional Council Spring Meeting in London, Ontario.
Looking ahead, beginning Sunday, July 5, we'll launch our summer worship series, Faith on the Field. Through the language of baseball, we'll explore themes of belonging, calling, and grace as we reflect on The Field, Stepping Up to the Plate, and Coming Home. I hope you'll join us for this creative and engaging journey through the summer weeks.
In the meantime, may you enjoy these longest days of the year. May there be time for rest, time with those you love, and moments to notice God's presence in the beauty and abundance of the season.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Barb
